Worked on the juanfont/headscale repository to enhance authentication flexibility by introducing a configurable email verification policy for OIDC-based sign-in flows. This feature allows teams to adjust authentication requirements based on whether a user’s email is verified, supporting diverse security and onboarding needs across different deployments. The implementation focused on maintainable backend development using Go, with careful attention to policy-driven configuration and collaborative code review. By enabling administrators to tailor authentication policies, the work positioned Headscale for broader enterprise adoption and improved its adaptability to varying organizational requirements, while maintaining a clear and extensible approach to authentication system design.
