During July 2025, Karimi developed rawfile-localpv storage support for the openebs/openebs repository, focusing on expanding local storage options within Kubernetes environments. Karimi created a new Helm chart and updated deployment scripts to integrate the rawfile-based LocalPV storage engine, enabling seamless deployment and management of raw file-backed persistent volumes. This work leveraged DevOps practices, Helm, and Shell scripting to ensure compatibility and ease of use within Kubernetes clusters. The feature addressed the need for flexible local storage solutions, aligning with the OpenEBS roadmap. Karimi’s contribution demonstrated depth in Kubernetes storage integration and Helm chart development over the one-month period.
