Isaiah Yemitan developed an automated preview release workflow for the commercetools/merchant-center-application-kit repository, focusing on streamlining the deployment process for preview releases. Leveraging GitHub Actions, Shell scripting, and YAML, he engineered a system that triggers deployments from issue comments and restricts them to branches prefixed with 'preview/', minimizing the risk of accidental releases. The workflow automates dependency installation, commit status updates, and the publication of snapshot-tagged preview releases, while also posting results directly to the relevant issue for improved traceability. This work reduced manual intervention, accelerated feedback cycles, and enhanced release management within the AppKit development ecosystem.
