Developed a user-driven comparison feature for the dropbox/AffectedModuleDetector repository, enabling users to specify a raw commit SHA as a baseline for module comparisons. This addition streamlines version control workflows by allowing flexible and precise baseline selection, which accelerates debugging and reduces manual setup. The implementation involved expanding the codebase in Kotlin, updating documentation to guide users on the new comparison strategy, and introducing targeted unit tests to ensure reliability and cover edge cases. No bugs were reported during the development period, and all critical paths for the new feature were validated, demonstrating a thorough and quality-focused engineering approach.
