During April 2025, Jean-Pierre Ranceaux enhanced the Dispatcharr/Dispatcharr repository by developing a feature that improved TVHeadend M3U channel parsing. He focused on adding support for the tvg-chno tag, enabling the system to accurately parse and assign channel numbers from M3U files. Using Python and leveraging his skills in API and backend development, Jean-Pierre refined the ingestion pipeline to reduce mislabeling and manual channel adjustments. This work addressed reliability issues in channel identification and management, streamlining onboarding for TVHeadend feeds. The depth of the solution delivered clear business value by reducing support effort and accelerating customer time-to-value.
