Worked on the gdsfactory/gdsfactory repository to deliver AI-assisted layout diff capabilities and enhance die frame configurability. Developed a structured DiffResult from the diff() function, enabling AI-driven layout reconstruction with detailed geometric feedback such as per-layer IoU and bounding boxes. Improved test coverage and type safety by annotating types with Literal for mypy compatibility and managing cache to prevent cross-test pollution. Addressed CI failures by fixing EOFError in difftest, resulting in more reliable error reporting and robust continuous integration. Utilized Python, CI/CD, and testing frameworks to ensure maintainable tooling and improved configurability for layout generation and validation workflows.
