During December 2025, John Strom developed management commands for the AKS Application Load Balancer add-on within the Azure/azure-cli-extensions repository. He implemented enable, disable, and update functionality for the ALB as an AKS add-on, updating both the command structure and documentation to streamline the user experience. Using Python, Azure CLI, and Kubernetes, John consolidated the add-on lifecycle management into a unified CLI workflow, reducing operational complexity for cluster operators. His work aligned the ALB add-on management with existing Application Gateway for Containers commands, ensuring consistency across Azure tooling and providing clear, traceable updates at the commit and documentation levels.
