Worked on the datahub-project/datahub repository to enhance Airflow integration by addressing compatibility issues with the MappedOperator import. Developed a Python-based fallback mechanism that detects the availability of MappedOperator and safely switches import paths, ensuring stable operation across multiple Airflow versions. This approach reduced runtime errors and improved pipeline reliability for environments with diverse dependencies. The solution demonstrated plugin development skills and applied backward-compatibility strategies, contributing to lower support overhead and easier maintenance. All changes were clearly linked to relevant issues for traceability, supporting maintainable code practices and providing a technical pattern for safe feature gating in data orchestration workflows.
