Developed and integrated a custom domain configuration feature for the discovery server within the gardener/gardener repository, enabling users to assign a custom domain with enforced immutability after initial setup. This work included aligning DNS provider integration and updating Gateway and Ingress components to ensure accurate DNS record management when custom domains are configured. The implementation involved refactoring the codebase for consistency, adding comprehensive unit tests to validate new behaviors, and enhancing API documentation and validation logic. Leveraging Go, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure expertise, this feature established a stable foundation for future domain management capabilities while supporting local development and deployment workflows.
