Worked on the solarwinds/swi-k8s-opentelemetry-collector repository, focusing on Helm chart release management and packaging improvements over a two-month period. Delivered the 4.2.x Helm chart series, moving from pre-release alpha to a stable 4.2.0 release and a subsequent 4.2.1 patch, which included a Chart.yaml newline fix to ensure clean packaging and stable Kubernetes deployments. Emphasized DevOps practices and versioning discipline by bumping the chart to 4.5.0-alpha.4 for release readiness, improving deployment consistency and traceability. Utilized YAML for configuration and Helm for packaging, prioritizing deployment stability and usability for OpenTelemetry users without introducing functional code changes.
