Javen Kazebee developed a TCP-based command for the bitfocus/companion repository, enabling remote retrieval of custom variable values to support automation and external integrations. By extending the API surface, Javen allowed runtime data to be accessed over TCP, which improved the system’s operability and scalability for remote control scenarios. The implementation involved designing a network protocol and ensuring robust error handling, all within a TypeScript codebase. While the work focused on a single feature during the month, it demonstrated depth in API development and maintainable commit practices, addressing integration needs without introducing new bugs or regressions into the existing system.
