
Over eight months, contributed to the E3SM-Project/E3SM repository by engineering robust data I/O workflows for high-performance computing environments. Focused on backend development and configuration management, this work included integrating ADIOSC I/O with BLOSC compression, expanding NetCDF and NCZarr format support, and upgrading the SCORPIO submodule to enhance data integrity and automation. Leveraging C, Fortran, and CMake, implemented environment-variable driven controls and streamlined build system configuration to improve workflow flexibility and reliability. Addressed compatibility and stability issues across evolving storage backends, while maintaining clear version control and documentation. These efforts improved data portability, throughput, and reproducibility for scientific simulations.

This work includes build-script and Fortran mapping updates, plus SCORPIO and CMake support for BLOSC, with tests to validate compression path (testmod to force ADIOS BP compression). Updated dependencies to SCORPIO v1.6.6 for compatibility and stability. No explicit major bugs were reported; stability improvements and test coverage were enhanced. Overall, these changes improve storage efficiency, data throughput, and workflow reliability for high-performance simulations.
