Worked on the elementary-data/elementary repository to update cloud storage integration, focusing on maintaining compatibility with evolving Google Cloud Storage APIs. Migrated the codebase from using the deprecated get_bucket() method to the recommended bucket() approach, ensuring continued support for data upload workflows without introducing regressions. This change prepared the project for future library updates, reducing maintenance overhead and improving long-term reliability of data ingestion processes. The work involved Python programming and leveraged skills in API integration and cloud storage management. By stabilizing the interaction with GCS, the update enhanced the robustness of the repository’s data handling infrastructure.
