During August 2025, J focused on enhancing the onboarding experience in the systemd/particleos repository by developing the Display Manager First-Boot User Setup and Greeter feature. Leveraging skills in Linux administration, service management, and systemd, J implemented a workflow that enables user creation immediately after first boot and ensures the display manager greeter launches automatically on subsequent logins. This was achieved by integrating systemd-firstboot to seed the initial user and coordinating greeter activation after first-boot-complete.target. The work addressed deployment readiness by reducing manual onboarding steps, demonstrating a thoughtful approach to reliability and user experience, though it did not involve bug fixes.
