Worked on the netdata/libbpf repository to deliver an AF_XDP observability enhancement within the kernel’s netdev-genl interface. Developed a per-queue xsk attribute, implemented in C, that becomes visible only for queues actively using AF_XDP, thereby improving the granularity of network interface monitoring. Updated netdev.h to define this new attribute, ensuring consistency between the kernel interface and the feature’s implementation. This work laid the foundation for future exposure of XSK-related metrics, supporting advanced networking use cases. Focused on kernel development and networking, the contribution addressed a targeted need for better visibility into AF_XDP queue usage without introducing unnecessary complexity.
