In July 2025, John Deoliveira focused on maintenance and quality improvements for the Apache Tika repository, addressing a critical issue in the CAD module’s build configuration. He corrected the Automatic-Module tag, which had previously been misapplied from another module, ensuring accurate module identification and more reliable downstream build and packaging processes. Working primarily with Java and leveraging skills in build system configuration and module management, John’s targeted fix improved repository metadata consistency and reduced the risk of mislabeling. This work enhanced the stability and maintainability of Tika’s modular architecture, supporting more dependable module discovery and ongoing project development.
