Worked on the elastic/beats repository, focusing on enhancing Metricbeat’s data stream metadata. Developed and delivered a feature that introduced a data_stream field to the node_index_shards structure, enabling more granular categorization and management of data streams within backend workflows. This addition improved the visibility and governance of data streams, supporting more effective monitoring, analytics, and dashboard integration. The work involved backend development and testing using Go, with attention to ensuring compatibility across dashboards and alerting pipelines. While no major bugs were addressed, minor stability refinements were applied to shard metadata processes, laying groundwork for future enhancements in data stream monitoring.
