Worked on the platform9/vjailbreak repository to enhance observability and performance monitoring for migration workflows. Developed and integrated detailed timing and performance logging within the V2V Helper, enabling precise measurement of full disk copies, incremental block copies, and the overall conversion process. This instrumentation, implemented in Go, supports benchmarking and targeted optimization by providing granular data on migration durations. The work focused on improving traceability and analysis of system administration tasks related to virtualization, without addressing explicit bug fixes. By emphasizing performance monitoring, the changes laid the groundwork for future improvements in migration efficiency and operational transparency within the platform.
