Worked on the supabase/postgres repository to enhance database security and streamline Docker image maintenance. Focused on synchronizing Supabase roles with the $POSTGRES_PASSWORD environment variable across multiple PostgreSQL versions, including orioleDB, ensuring that the 'supabase_admin' role’s password is set during initialization for improved deployment consistency. Simplified the Docker image by removing self-hosting specific logic and custom entrypoint scripts, instead relying on the upstream Docker entrypoint to reduce complexity. Utilized DevOps practices, Docker, PostgreSQL, and Shell scripting to deliver these features. The work addressed cross-version compatibility and deployment efficiency, reflecting a methodical approach to infrastructure and security improvements.
