During a two-month period, J. Heising contributed backend engineering work to livekit/agents-js and comfyanonymous/ComfyUI. On livekit/agents-js, he addressed reliability issues in the agent output audio pipeline by modifying TypeScript logic to detect empty or whitespace LLM output, ensuring the text-to-speech stream terminated promptly and preventing hangs in production. For ComfyUI, he expanded API capabilities by updating CORS configuration to support PATCH requests, enabling partial updates and richer client interactions. His work demonstrated proficiency in backend development, API design, and CORS policy management using Python and TypeScript, with a focus on targeted, production-oriented improvements and clear commit documentation.
