During December 2025, Jicee13 developed self-contained Erlang release tooling for the facebook/buck2 and facebook/buck2-prelude repositories, focusing on improving build reliability and portability. Leveraging Erlang and Python scripting, Jicee13 created scripts to bundle ERTS and generate OTP version metadata, enabling seamless integration into the build toolchain and supporting robust world release tests. The work included proactive configuration guidance and user-facing error handling to reduce misconfigurations and streamline release workflows. By aligning release tooling across repositories and simplifying ERTS configuration, Jicee13 enhanced toolchain management, reduced external dependencies, and improved the consistency and usability of Erlang-based build systems.
