June 2025 monthly summary focused on stabilizing initial boot under soft reboot scenarios for Fedora CoreOS. Implemented a targeted systemd resilience improvement by adjusting the conditions for coreos-ignition-firstboot-complete.service and coreos-check-ssh-keys.service so they reliably complete even when the kernel command line does not change, preventing automated test (Kola) failures and flaky boot behavior.

May 2025 focused on enhancing test reliability and efficiency for coreos/coreos-assembler by introducing soft-reboot support in the Kola testing framework. The change enables tests to restart userspace without a full system reboot, reducing test turnaround and enabling more granular state validation. This work included updates to Kola and Kolet to support soft-reboot, implementation of systemd boot timestamp tracking for robust state detection, and the creation of documentation and test scripts to demonstrate and validate the feature. Result: improved test coverage for external tests and faster feedback loops.

November 2024: Delivered Bootc package integration into the Fedora CoreOS base manifest for the coreosbot-releng/fedora-coreos-config repository.
