This feature recognized the 'topojson' path suffix in configuration files, allowing TopoJSON files to open with standard JSON highlighting and aligning their behavior with existing GeoJSON support. The approach focused on configuration management and front end development, utilizing TOML for configuration updates. The work included updating release notes to document the new feature and submitting a self-reviewed pull request for integration.
