Worked on the kyma-project/istio repository to deliver a unified Dockerfile template, consolidating several existing Dockerfiles into a single, maintainable file. This approach streamlined the build process by reducing redundancy and simplifying maintenance, while also removing outdated Dockerfiles to decrease the build surface area. Utilizing Docker, YAML, and containerization best practices, the work improved build consistency and accelerated continuous integration cycles. The standardized template enhanced onboarding efficiency and troubleshooting by aligning build tooling across the repository. This focused effort addressed both technical debt and operational efficiency, supporting a faster release cadence and more reliable development workflows within the project.
