During August 2025, João Preis developed a scalable backend architecture for the zanfranceschi/rinha-de-backend-2025 repository, focusing on the Rinha de Backend 2025 challenge. He designed a multi-instance submission platform using TypeScript and Bun, orchestrated with Docker Compose to enable flexible deployment of multiple API instances. His work included building an asynchronous worker pipeline with Redis-backed caching and queuing, as well as integrating a health-check service that monitored external payment processor status to inform worker behavior. By configuring Nginx for load balancing, João improved throughput, fault tolerance, and deployment flexibility, demonstrating depth in distributed systems and containerized environments.
For 2025-08, delivered a scalable backend architecture for the Rinha de Backend 2025 challenge. Implemented a multi-instance submission platform using TypeScript and Bun, with Docker Compose orchestration for multiple API instances, a health-check service, an asynchronous worker, Nginx load balancing, and Redis-backed caching and queuing. Integrated health checks to inform the worker about external payment processor status, increasing reliability and resilience. Result: improved throughput, fault tolerance, and deployment flexibility for the production environment.
