In April 2025, Joe Nguyen developed foundational volunteer feature scaffolding for the UoaWDCC/motorsports repository, focusing on frontend enhancements using Next.js, React, and TypeScript. He integrated a Volunteer button into the Navbar, routing users to a newly established /volunteerPage, and created a placeholder VolunteerPage component to facilitate future expansion. This work established a clear navigation pathway for community engagement initiatives, improving the user experience by enabling immediate access to volunteer content. While the scope was limited to initial setup without bug fixes, Joe’s contribution laid essential groundwork for subsequent feature development and streamlined the project’s approach to user-facing volunteer functionality.
