Worked on a major backend refactor in the dentiny/ray repository, focusing on migrating Serve’s location handling from the deprecated DeploymentMode to the new ProxyLocation system. This effort unified location management across the codebase, introduced the ProxyLocation._normalize() method to maintain backward compatibility with legacy NoServer values, and updated HTTPOptions defaults and internal call sites. The developer modernized the test suite, ensuring release stability and future extensibility. Using Python and leveraging skills in API and backend development as well as testing, the work established a foundation for future deployment features while preserving compatibility for existing Azure and legacy deployment configurations.
