Worked on enhancing the stability of the Segment Store migration process in the apache/jackrabbit-oak repository, focusing on backend development and data migration using Java. Addressed a critical reliability issue by implementing a null-safe approach in the migrateBinaryRef method within SegmentStoreMigrator, which prevents potential NullPointerExceptions during Azure segment store migrations. This targeted bug fix, linked to OAK-11987, improved the robustness of the migration pipeline and reduced the risk of production failures. The work emphasized traceability by associating the change with a specific issue, supporting auditability and facilitating more efficient code reviews within the project’s collaborative workflow.
