Worked on the alphagov/govuk-mobile-ios-app repository to enhance chat accessibility by introducing an experimental VoiceOver prompt before chat questions. Using Swift and SwiftUI, explored strategies to improve the experience for users relying on screen readers, carefully validating the impact on overall usability. After thorough testing and collaboration with design and QA, the change was reverted to maintain clarity and preserve the baseline user experience. This process demonstrated a disciplined approach to feature rollout and rollback, with detailed documentation of rationale and test results. The work emphasized accessibility best practices in iOS development while minimizing risk to the existing user interface.
