Worked on backend stability within the st0x0ef/stellaris repository, focusing on oil configuration logic using Java. Addressed a critical crash that occurred when oil was disabled via configuration by introducing a guard clause to safely handle cases where chunkOilChance was zero or negative. This defensive programming approach prevented IllegalArgumentException during config read and write operations, improving system resilience and uptime. The solution ensured that user preferences to disable oil were respected, reducing downtime and support requests. Emphasized robust handling of serialization and random number generation, reinforcing the reliability of the configuration subsystem through careful backend development practices.
