In February 2025, Jingqi focused on improving the Backstage catalog experience within the cloudflare/cloudflared repository by addressing metadata accuracy. Jingqi removed the deprecated backstage.io/source-location annotation from catalog-info.yaml, streamlining how source code locations are managed and displayed. This change, implemented through a targeted bug fix, reduced the risk of mislinks and stale references for developers and operators. Working primarily with YAML and Git, Jingqi’s update enhanced catalog reliability and simplified ongoing maintenance. The work demonstrated careful attention to detail and a clear understanding of Backstage’s metadata requirements, resulting in a more accurate and maintainable catalog structure.
