Worked on reliability and governance improvements in the Shopify/nixpkgs and SuperSandro2000/nixpkgs repositories using Nix for system and package management. Delivered an automatic restart configuration for the Oink service, ensuring it recovers from failures with minimal manual intervention by leveraging systemd’s Restart on-failure and RestartSec settings. Enhanced data hygiene by cleaning up maintainer metadata for the chawan and soju packages, clarifying ownership and reducing future maintenance risks without altering package functionality. Focused on metadata management, service management, and system configuration, the work emphasized auditability, maintainability, and operational resilience in critical infrastructure components across both repositories.
