During December 2024, contributed two new Ansible playbooks to the IBM/z_ansible_collections_samples repository, focusing on automation for UMS authentication workflows and Db2 utilities orchestration. Leveraging Ansible and YAML, the work introduced secure, local user authentication and token refresh processes, as well as configurable orchestration of Db2 utility runs using the daj_util role. The playbooks emphasized auditable, role-based configurations and improved operational visibility through verbose output and clear server connection settings. By reusing existing Ansible roles and providing detailed configuration options, the contributions reduced onboarding time, promoted consistency across environments, and enhanced automation maturity without introducing new bugs.
