In February 2025, JT Melot expanded the catalyst-cooperative/pudl repository by integrating the EIA 860 multifuel table into the data pipeline. This work involved designing new database tables and columns to accurately capture multifuel generator capabilities, such as burning or switching between multiple fuels. Using Python and SQL, JT updated the data model, metadata, and documentation, and managed database migrations to ensure seamless adoption of the new schema. The integration enhanced the ETL process and enabled more comprehensive reporting and analytics for users managing multifuel generators, reflecting a focused and in-depth approach to data engineering and database management challenges.
