They engineered the GravitinoCatalogManager to allow repeated creation calls, enabling multiple Flink SQL Gateway sessions while maintaining singleton integrity through configuration checks. This approach addressed a critical session initialization bug and ensured that duplicate instances with differing configurations could not occur.
