Worked on modernizing the deployment process for the jobbergate API in the omnivector-solutions/jobbergate repository, focusing on containerization and CI/CD improvements. Developed an optimized Docker image by introducing a multi-stage Dockerfile that separates build-time and runtime dependencies, leveraging Dockerfile, Python, and Shell scripting. Utilized Poetry in a dedicated builder stage to ensure reproducible builds and then transferred only necessary artifacts to a clean runtime stage, reducing image size and improving security. This approach enhanced deployment reliability, startup performance, and the overall security posture of the service, aligning with best practices in DevOps and modern Python development workflows.
