Worked on the VictoriaMetrics/VictoriaMetrics repository to update Hetzner Cloud integration in response to upcoming API deprecations, focusing on maintaining server discovery metadata resilience. Migrated the integration from the deprecated datacenter field to the new location field, ensuring that dashboards and queries remain functional through and beyond the deprecation deadline. Introduced new metadata labels while preserving legacy ones for backward compatibility, aligning the changes with Prometheus ecosystem updates for consistent metadata emission. Utilized Go for backend development and API integration, with an emphasis on cloud services. The work addressed a critical bug, enabling a smooth transition for users relying on Hetzner Cloud.
