Worked on the external-secrets/external-secrets repository to enhance AWS Secrets Manager integration by implementing a configurable prefix feature for secret names. Developed in Go and leveraging AWS and cloud technologies, this addition introduced an AWSProvider.prefix field that allows users to prepend a custom prefix to secret names during fetch, create, and delete operations. The approach maintained backward compatibility by defaulting to no-prefix behavior when the field is undefined, ensuring seamless adoption. This feature improved organizational consistency and environment isolation in secrets management workflows, enabling teams to standardize naming conventions across deployments without disrupting existing secrets or operational processes.
