In March 2025, J. Vaughan developed secure secret management features for Cloudflare’s developer tooling, focusing on the workers-sdk and workerd repositories. Vaughan integrated Cloudflare Secrets Store support into the Wrangler CLI, enabling developers to manage secrets through new commands and client-side API logic. Using TypeScript and Node.js, Vaughan also defined foundational type definitions and interfaces for the Secrets Store Proxy Worker, ensuring compatibility across multiple snapshot versions. The work included comprehensive end-to-end and unit testing to validate security and functionality. These contributions streamlined secret lifecycle operations, reduced manual handling, and established a scalable foundation for secure secret management across environments.
