January 2025 monthly summary for usdot-fhwa-OPS/V2X-Hub. Delivered key feature work on port standardization for the ImmediateForwardPlugin with accompanying documentation improvements to reduce user confusion and improve maintainability. No major bugs reported this month. The work reinforces port consistency, improves onboarding for new users, and enhances future maintenance across the V2X-Hub repository.

December 2024: Delivered major feature enhancements to the V2X-Hub Pedestrian Plugin and security improvements for deployment tooling. Key features include Multi-Message Support for PSM, SDSM, and TIM with enhanced XML data handling, refactored time calculations, and expanded testing; plus a dedicated WebSocket Presence Streaming server to surface real-time pedestrian data. SSL/TLS support was added to the connectedvcs-tools stack, enabling HTTPS in Docker deployments with clear certificate handling. No critical bugs were reported; several commits focused on test stability and code organization. Overall, these efforts increase interoperability with J2735 messaging, enable real-time visibility of pedestrians, and strengthen the security and operability of deployments.

November 2024: Delivered two high-value capabilities across critical messaging platforms, enhancing interoperability readiness and system responsiveness. Specifically, implemented a configurable Immediate Forward Plugin in V2X-Hub to support TxMode and Signature fields for Active Message File generation, based on Plugfest testing and user feedback. Also optimized performance in carma-platform by removing an unnecessary fixed sleep in msgIntersect.py, reducing latency while preserving existing behavior.

October 2024: Delivered secure API key management and private resource setup for ISDcreator and TIMcreator web apps, replacing hardcoded keys with placeholders and introducing private resources to support proper deployment and resource handling. Fixed Docker packaging to copy private-resources.war from the mvn-build stage, ensuring resources are built, included, and the application functions correctly. These efforts improve deployment security, resource isolation, and maintainability, positioning the platform for scalable web app deployments.
