Worked on dependency management and installation reliability for the malariagen/malariagen-data-python repository, focusing on stabilizing the package in uv-managed environments. Addressed a critical installation issue by updating the bed-reader dependency constraint in the pyproject.toml file to require version 1.1.0 or higher, ensuring compatibility and smoother onboarding for downstream users. Utilized Python and TOML to implement and commit the fix, which improved continuous integration reproducibility and reduced support requests related to installation errors. No new features were released during this period, but the targeted bug fix enhanced the overall developer experience and reliability of the package installation process.
