During May 2026, contributed to the Arize-ai/openinference repository by implementing OpenInference Span Kind PROMPT support. This work involved adding a new PROMPT variant to the OpenInferenceSpanKind enum using TypeScript, aligning the codebase with the OpenInference specification. The update ensured that LangChain prompt template spans are now reported accurately, improving both observability and integration reliability for users of LangChain. The feature was delivered in a single, focused commit and demonstrated a methodical approach to full stack development and testing. This contribution addressed a specific reporting need, enhancing the accuracy and consistency of span kind tracking within the project.
