During November 2024, Karrot Gaming focused on backend development and LLM integration for the get-convex/chef repository. They addressed a persistent initialization issue by refining the LM Studio client’s API key handling, ensuring that local LLM instances could be reliably started without authentication errors. Using TypeScript, Karrot Gaming implemented a targeted bug fix that explicitly set the API key to an empty string, which reduced startup failures and improved the stability of local inference workflows. This work, completed through collaborative code review, contributed to the repository’s maintainability and provided a smoother experience for developers working with local language models.
