Worked on the picodata/pike repository to deliver a critical upgrade of the YAML parsing library, replacing the unmaintained serde_yaml with the maintained serde_norway fork. This change preserved compatibility with existing code paths while reducing long-term maintenance risk and improving the project’s security posture. The work involved careful dependency management and build tooling within a Rust codebase, ensuring a seamless transition for future updates. No major bugs were addressed during this period, but the upgrade provided a cleaner path for ongoing support.
