Worked on the zed-industries/zed repository to enhance Markdown rendering by introducing theme-aware inline code coloring, leveraging Rust for implementation and UI/UX design principles to ensure consistency. The feature applied the active theme’s text.literal color to inline code, improving content readability and aligning rendered Markdown with editor syntax highlighting. A safe fallback mechanism preserved previous defaults when the theme lacked a text.literal color, preventing regressions. Comprehensive test coverage was added to validate these changes across themes, and release documentation was updated to communicate improvements to stakeholders. The work prioritized quality, performance, and maintainability, focusing on measurable UI/UX improvements.
