Worked on stabilizing the Colab renderer integration for the plotly/plotly.py repository, focusing on improving reliability for users working in Google Colab environments. Addressed a bug where the renderer could activate outside genuine Colab sessions by implementing a guard that checks for the presence of the COLAB_NOTEBOOK_ID environment variable. Enhanced the solution with automated Python tests to validate correct behavior in both Colab and non-Colab contexts, and updated documentation to reflect these changes. Demonstrated skills in Python development, environment configuration, and testing, delivering a targeted fix that reduces user confusion and improves the robustness of Colab integration.
