During March 2026, work focused on enhancing the Rdatatable/data.table repository’s release process by developing a dedicated issue template for reverse dependency check failures. This feature, implemented using YAML and leveraging GitHub workflows and template design skills, standardized the reporting and triage of revdep issues. The approach enabled earlier detection of potential problems before CRAN releases, reducing the need for post-release hotfixes and improving overall release readiness. Documentation and contributor guidance were updated to reflect the new workflow, ensuring clarity for future contributors. All changes were traceable through commits, supporting accountability and facilitating ongoing improvements to the repository’s release practices.
