During July 2026, work focused on enhancing the Qbox-project/qbx_core repository by developing a configurable Discord Rich Presence system for FiveM servers. This feature leveraged the Discord API and Lua to allow administrators to customize status messages using dynamic templates and live server data, such as player count, character identity, and location. A background thread was implemented to periodically update the Rich Presence state, ensuring real-time accuracy. The approach maintained backward compatibility, enabling seamless adoption without disrupting existing setups. This solution aimed to improve user engagement and reduce administrative effort by providing relevant, contextual information directly within Discord’s interface.
