Worked on modernizing the map view within the asuc-octo/berkeley-mobile-ios repository, focusing on delivering a streamlined and iOS 18+ compatible experience. The project involved replacing the legacy MapView with SafetyNewMapView, removing outdated logic and dropping support for iOS 16 fallbacks to simplify code maintenance. By updating SafetyMapView to leverage the new implementation, the work reduced technical debt and improved the consistency and responsiveness of the map feature. Collaborated through co-authored pull requests, ensuring maintainability and readiness for future iOS updates. Utilized Swift and SwiftUI throughout the development process, emphasizing clean architecture and a better user experience.
