Kobi developed a system-property-driven HttpClient proxy configuration for the znsio/specmatic repository, focusing on improving testability in restricted-network environments. By leveraging Kotlin and Ktor’s Apache engine factory, Kobi enabled HttpClient to respect Java system properties for proxy settings while maintaining backward compatibility through sensible defaults. This approach reduced setup friction for developers, QA, and CI pipelines, streamlining network configuration and enhancing testing reliability. Although no bugs were fixed during this period, the work demonstrated depth in HttpClient configuration and system properties, delivering a robust solution that accelerates integration validation in environments with limited network access and complex testing requirements.
